If you don’t know your dolphin schools from your whale pods, and seek more from a trip than sand and sangria, then join one of the African Conservation Experience projects from two weeks to three months at a time.
Head to Plettenberg Bay in South Africa and help to conserve the marine wildlife by learning how to identify and record number, breed, age, growth and behaviour of a variety of species through hands-on involvement. Alongside experts from the Dolphin and Whale research centre you will observe these incredible creatures from close quarters with the stunning backdrop of South Africa’s Garden route.
Two week projects are from £2,290 pp full board including flights to Johannesburg and transfers. Call African Conservation Experience on 0870 241 5816 (www.conservationafrica.net).
